Regional Sales Officer
OH - Covington
Opportunity Snapshot
As an experienced healthcare sales professional, you know it's all about the relationships. In fact, you attribute your success as a true "hunter" to adopting a proactive and innovative approach to building strong relationships with the Director of Nursing (DON) at extended care facilities, as you aggressively drive new business. Now is the time to leverage your relationship building skills and knowledge of the LTC industry to join a company with a 120-year legacy of excellence in pharmacy services: here's why:
- Not only is Remedi SeniorCare one of the nation's top ten institutional pharmacy service providers, but we've successfully differentiated ourselves from the competition by developing intelligent, next-generation tools and a disruptive technology that allows us to provide a quality product while minimizing life threatening errors. With new products in the pipeline and solid financial backing, we are poised for even more growth -- both organic and via acquisition -- and are ideally positioned to become a sizable player in the extended care market.
- Initially, you'll be the lead sales arm based out of our Covington, Ohio institutional pharmacy. You will play a key role in driving new revenue streams through the Ohio location but, you will quickly see the opportunity to flex your business development muscle well beyond the borders of this mid-west state.
- You'll get to unleash your inner road warrior as you enjoy a life away from the confines of a traditional office environment, spending 90% of your time in the field and the remainder at a home-based office. You bring the self-initiative and bias for self-action to meet your goals independently and we'll empower you with all the tools and training you need to ensure your success, not to mention the industry specific disruptive technology that will be coming on line later this year.
- A sales career is about earning a great income, yet that often comes at the expense of a base salary and benefits; that is not the case here. In addition to a competitive base and incentive plan ($60.00 commission per filled SNF bed) we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health coverage; holidays; PTO; short and long-term disability; and more.
- Our mission is to provide residents, families, and staff of extended care health facilities with top-notch pharmacy service. We embrace the reality of being a linchpin provider of service to individuals who cannot care for themselves. Your influence in this position will extend beyond our walls as you also help contribute to the health and wellness of seniors.
Our Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- 5+ years of healthcare sales experience; the ideal candidate will have BOTH understanding of the nuances and lingo of the LTC industry and clinical background and/or product knowledge.
- Leadership skills to marshal resources and mentor other sales professionals.
- Outstanding communication skills (including active listening) and the ability to deliver quality presentations. Flexibility in presentation style is key, as depending on the situation, you may deliver an informal pitch to a smaller account or a formal presentation to a larger corporate account and be able to modify your communication style accordingly.
- Independent thinking, including a strong desire to understand not only how products operate technically, but also figuring out what end users value and then position and price that product effectively.
- Proven organizational and multitasking skills.
- A team player approach and the ability to be effective in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment.
- Entrepreneurial attitude and proactive business style.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Photoshop is a plus.
- Ability to travel, about 90%, within the greater Ohio area and contiguous states.
More About Your Role
This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the President/Chief Operating Officer of the Ohio operation. As you come on board, you will go through a 3-month "breaking in" period during which you will gain clinical product knowledge and learn the nuances of our complex contracts and pricing structure.
We have a long sales cycle, ranging from nine to 14 months, and you'll be juggling 25-30 accounts concurrently in various stages of completion as you maintain a detail orientation and meet your sales targets. Specifically, your responsibilities are to:
- Bring in 1,000 beds per year.
- Build/maintain strong relationships with DONs.
- Collaborate with regional leadership and Remedi Sales/Marketing resources to develop annual sales and marketing plan for your region.
- Make 100 cold calls to new accounts each month.
- Develop and maintain Remedi Senior Care of Ohio's (RSO) sales and marketing database and produce monthly funnel report to the President/COO of Ohio and corporate CEO.
- Become an expert in RSO technology products provided to the facilities (My Remedi, ATS, Accuflow Emar and PAXIT).
- Collaborate with your regional counterparts on the Sales and Marketing staff.
- Assist with other pharmacy functions as the President sees fit.
- Manage team members and attend weekly management team meetings.
Keys to Success
Pivotal to your success in this role is your ability to develop an inside-out understanding of LTC care potential clients as you showcase a kind, compassionate style of cultivating and sustaining authentic relationships with DONs and extended care facilities. With great tact and diplomacy, you will successfully navigate past the gatekeeper(s) and target the true decision maker to drive sales excellence. You will also showcase an unflappable "whatever it takes" team-player attitude to get the job done right as you juggle multiple accounts and priorities. And last but not least, you will be fully vested in RSO's success as you leverage your healthcare sales experience and recommend your own ideas for improvements to push us to the next level.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity, we want to hear from you!
